TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN - DAY 11 OF 27 DAYS IN A GREEN MA - COOL .
Dinner at the Inn was simply excellent -- a Zagat rated restuarant. Our plan to visit NYC last Friday stymied by Sandys aftermath, we decided that a spur of the moment sojourn to a quiet Berkshires inn with a great restaurant was a solid Plan B from our Boston home. We walked down the boardwalk to the town of Plymouth, where we had lunch at a waterside restaurant called the Weathervane. We started Sunday morning with an early Mass with Daves sister and her family. After Mass we went to Plymouth, MA to visit Plymouth Rock and the surrounding sites. Along with being just known as The Ship for many years, there was also apparently a Weathervane restaurant in that location that Ive heard more than one resident speak of fondly. BankGloucester, La Trattoria, Red Skiff, Halibut Point, Sandra Herdman, Causeway Liquors, Weathervane Restaurant, Just4Fun-Ann Cauton, Passports, Avanti Hair Salon, Russell Florist, Mike Frontiero, Soft Touch, Fatimas Salon Shelly, Cape Ann Marina, Felicia Oil, Two Sisters, En Vouge. The dinning room is romantic and the restaurant lives up to its billing. Dinner at the Inn was simply excellent -- a Zagat rated restuarant. This is now the 444 Bar Grill, very good new place.
MARCEAUS COFFEE SHOP - FITCHBURG - URBANSPOON.
Well worth a try. 322 Palmer Ave Falmouth, MA 02540 508 548-4496. I have never been motivated to write a review of a fast food joint, but the las of the early / morning shift at this DD rock. So, this photo was found in a file that had a label bearing the name Kernwood Restaurant. The restaurant itself it very nice - loved the look. Bobs is a casual place and Roberts is more upscale sitdown restaurant. From the outside the restaurant looks like a mix of a harbor house and a lighthouse, but unfortunately the inside doesnt quite match that. Included in this tour is a summer theater show at the Ogunquit Playhouse (Sound of Music), lunch at the Weathervane Restaurant in York, lobster bake at the Bull Claw in Wells after the show, overnight at the Hampton Inn in Wells. My wife and I stopped over at the hotel as part of a New England fly drive tour and were very impressed with the welcome by all of the staff, the reception process and the dining in the Bar - we used the restuarant for the breakfast only.
